Workshops
Career Day
The workshop is for the advanced artist who has built up their resume with group shows and awards and is ready to pursue solo shows and/or gallery representation. The focus will be on putting together packets for galleries, solo shows and grants. Attention will be given for each individual’s resume, statement, slides. There will be a group critique where each artist will receive feedback on the direction of the work and the presentation of it. Follow up after the workshop is included. Limit 4 people.
Exhibiting Professionalism
The workshop will dispel some of the mysteries of why and how galleries want to receive your materials and who they want to do business with. The workshop will cover: slide quality, slide labeling, building your resume, artist statement, approach, professionalism and pricing of your artwork. We will also do some goal setting. Limit 10 people.
Artists on the Verge
In this advanced to day workshop, we will employ the information and strategies learned at the Career Day Workshop and get you into ACTION. After reviewing the slides and statements that you have revised, you will create packets for non-profits, galleries or any other appropriate venues. With the group’s help we will select the strongest grouping of images for each submission, fine tune cover letters, statements, etc.
Mock interviews will be conducted with each participant. I will play the role of a gallery owner/director who is interested in your work. These interviews will be conducted in front of the other workshop participants, so as to benefit everyone. In addition, we will set goals and create strategic plans for the next 6 months to reach those goals.
