Janet has provided invaluable aid in furthering my art career and bolstering my confidence. With her assistance, I was able to secure a grant from the Illinois Arts Council to help finance a solo show.

The atmosphere that Janet creates in her workshops is professional, inspiring and honest. When I brought a series of recent paintings and slides to the workshop it was very clear that my slides did not accurately represent my work. I have since become a stickler for perfect slides! Janet is very encouraging, knowledgeable and straightforward. I look forward to attending more of her workshops in the future.

Time spent with Janet Bloch paid off big time for me.  Marketing art is a difficult task in this day and age, but her assistance with statements, slide lists, etc., plus a suggestion here and a nudge there, really advanced my career. Janet's intuition and savvy worked for me. Before you know it, you’re getting it out there!

My association with Janet Bloch has been one of the best in my recent art career. In 1999 I took her class in which Janet was inspiring, highly organized and able to work with a wide range of ages and capabilities. She helped me refocus my art career which has improved steadily.

As a result of taking two workshops from Janet I think I've become much more professional in my presentation. She was helpful with words in my artist statement, resume and with the way I present the work - from thin metal frames to substantial wood frames. I now have several marketing packets ready to send when I come across a gallery I would like to show work in.

Janet Bloch’s workshop is truly a wonderful and educational experience.  Janet’s input was invaluable for me in many different ways.  Most importantly, she had us read our artist’s statements to her and the other participants.  I had never realized how general and long my artist’s statement really was until that moment.  I not only received wonderful constructive criticism at that point but Janet spent the next month helping me to rework and revise my statement and resume.  The additional help that she gave me really speaks of her professionalism and dedication.  Janet also suggested that it was time to get my work out and apply to National Shows with great Jurors.  I never thought my work was ready but I took her advice and applied to a national call for artists.  Four months later, three of my works were included in the 23rd Annual National Juried Show at the Pleiades Gallery in New York, New York, Juror, Jordan Kantor, Assistant Curator, The Museum of Modern Art, New York, New York.  It was at this opening that I was offered representation by a curator in San Francisco

I honestly used to think I was pretty professional in the business side of my career as an artist. Then I took Janet's workshops, and she taught me how to better refine my resume, how to put slides in their best order, and how to assemble a stronger professional packet. I became more confident in the presentation of my materials, and better prepared for a gallery interview. After sending off my revised materials, I was invited to do an artist residency in Hawaii, and was accepted into a fine arts gallery in Saugatuck, Michigan.

Recently I attended a three day workshop led by Janet BlochThe presentation was organized in an informative yet intimate manner meeting the various needs of the individual artists.  I personally gained more confidence in my process and will be able to reference the material presented for years to come.  I often recommend Janet's workshops to interested artists and have always received positive and thankful feedback.
